US pop star Taylor Swift is the latest big name to be attached to the unnamed project, a New Regency production thought to be a period film set in the Great Depression.Christian Bale, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert De Niro, Mike Myers, Chris Rock, John David Washington, Rami Malek and Zoe Saldana also make up the mind-blowing cast.RELATED: Follow the latest movie newsThe mystery movie, which has already been shot and is in post-production, marks the first time Russell, who made Oscar-winning movies American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook, has been behind the camera in six years, following Joy with Jennifer Lawrence in 2015.MORE: Timothee Chalamet to play Willy Wonka in prequelVariety reports Russell wrote and directed the film, with the plot kept firmly under wraps.It was shot in California last year under strict COVID-19 guidelines.Disney’s 20th Century Studios will release the movie at a later date.Swift is yet to comment on her inclusion in Russell’s project.MORE: Kevin Spacey to return to the big screen in new filmA notable absence from the cast line-up is Lawrence, who starred in Russell’s last three films which all earned her Oscar nominations, and one golden statue in 2012 for Silver Linings.However she wasn’t able to sign on due to other filming commitments.New Regency’s Arnon Milchan is producing the movie, alongside Matthew Budman and Anthony Katagas.
