Four students at South Coogee Public School have now tested positive to Covid-19 and there are reports of a positive case in a pupil at Emanuel School Randwick.More than 500 students at South Coogee Public have been asked to isolate for two weeks after two students returned positive swabs on Sunday. This follows the two original cases reported on Friday, which are linked to the Bondi cluster. The news comes as school holidays get underway, meaning on-site learning will not be impacted.“It brings the total number of students at South Coogee Public School with confirmed positive tests to four,” a spokesman for the NSW Department of Education said.“Based on the additional cases and because there are a number of interactions between children in different year groups, NSW Health has updated its advice.“All students are now close contacts and must have been tested and self-isolate for 14 days, regardless of a negative test result.”“Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our staff and students at all times.”The spokesman said the school is working closely with NSW Health and the department. There are also reports a student at Emanuel School Randwick has tested positive after the principal sent out an email alert to parents on Sunday night.NSW recorded 30 new cases on Sunday, the first day of a two-week citywide lockdown.Of the 112 locally acquired cases recorded since June 16, when the driver who transported international flight crew was reported, 110 are linked to the Bondi cluster and two remain under investigation. One of those is a Year 3 student from St Charles Catholic Primary School in Waverley, which is in the Bondi area. The outbreak has thrown school holidays into chaos, given many families are now locked down over the break.
