Acting Premier Steven Miles announced restrictions would ease at 6am on Friday, but said the southeast should still be on guard following a positive case of the Delta variant being out and about in the Sunshine Coast community. The state recorded no new locally acquired cases of Covid-19 on Thursday. A woman in her 20s flew from Melbourne before the city went into lockdown to the Sunshine Coast, and was contacted by Victorian health authorities that she had visited a Tier 1 site and needed to get tested and isolate for 14 days. While she went and got tested, she went shopping and dined with friends while waiting her results, which came back negative. After flying home to Mareeba in the state’s far north, she later tested positive.More to come.
