An essential healthcare worker was allegedly abused and punched at a testing site at Kissing Point Rd, Dundas, at about 4pm.Police have been told a female staff member was carrying out tests when she was confronted by a man who was not wearing a mask.It is alleged the man began filming the 31-year-old healthcare worker on his phone while abusing her about vaccinations.The man then allegedly ripped off the woman’s mask and punched her in the head. Witnesses who were undergoing tests hopped out of their cars and helped the worker.The man then allegedly fled on foot before the woman was treated at the scene. She did not require hospitalisation.Cumberland Police Area Command officers have released images of a man they would like to speak to who may be able to assist police with their inquiries.The man in the images is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his 30s, about 165cm tall with a medium build. He has black curly hair and two moles on his right cheek, and at the time of the incident he was wearing blue jeans and a grey top with black sleeves.Police are also appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault, or has information about the identity of this man, to contact Cumberland police (02) 9897 4199 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
