Jan Langbroek died peacefully aged 89, survived by wife, Anne, two children and seven grandchildren.A notice in the Herald Sun from the family ended with “To know him was to love him”.Langbroek, who lived in Italy for two years, returned home last year in June to be with her teacher father, who wasn’t well and had been in and out of hospital.She did two weeks of quarantine with her son, Lewis.At the time she said: “I just said look, I have to be able to see my dad and I also have to rejoin my family, I can’t be separated from them for the next six months or however long the lockout goes for”.Langbroek and husband, Peter, moved to Italy with their four kids at the start of 2019 and returned in December 2020.She spoke about her dad to the Herald Sun last year: “We got out of hotel quarantine and picked up Mum and went straight to see him and the difference between that and eight days later when we left — you just go that’s the power of love and also he’s got this Dutch determination. He had amazing hospitals and doctors.”After a hugely successful stint on radio with Dave Hughes, Langbroek is now part of the 3PM Pick Up on KIIS FM and regularly appears on The Project.She also returned this week to Have You Been Paying Attention on Network 10.
