But there was some signs of hope with the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian revealing at least 120,000 more people got vaccinated in the last 24 hours.Earlier today Ms Berejiklian said NSW residents would not be granted any more freedoms until the state hits its 70 per cent double dose target.She said full vaccination would provide the protection people needed to reduce their chance of serious illness or spreading the disease.“Which is why we’re waiting for the double dose of 70 per cent for life to feel and look much better than what it is today, and I can assure everybody that will definitely be the case,” the Premier told 2GB.“I have stuck to all my promises during this (time) and I will make sure that once our population gets to 70 per cent double dose that we will do that (ease restrictions).But when the state does start opening up the privileges will only be for those who are vaccinated, she said.More to come
