The footage shows a wall of officers moving protesters back along a road from the CBD.The woman, who is wearing a red jacket and carrying an Australian flag, can be seen standing in the way of Victoria police when she appears to be pushed to the ground.She appears to knock her head on the bitumen, before her face is doused in pepper spray.The woman was reportedly aged in her 70s, however police were not able to confirm her age.A Victoria Police spokeswoman said it was aware of the incident.“Police anticipated a highly volatile situation on the weekend and had strongly urged people to refrain from participating in protest activity,” she said.“Despite warnings, an estimated 700 people protested in clear breach of the Chief Health Officer’s directions.”The matter has been referred to Victoria Police’s internal Professional Standards Command.Six police officers were taken to hospital with serious injuries after Sunday’s protests. Their injuries included torn muscles, a broken elbow, a broken nose and a broken finger.The violent clashes between protesters and officers resulted in 235 arrests, with 193 of them linked to breaching the chief health officer’s directions.Other alleged offences included assaulting police and riotous behaviour, as well as weapons and drug charges.
