This show is about teammates and I wouldn’t be here without those three things in my life. “First off I want to thank my folks, Dan and Kathy, I want to thank my sisters Kristin and Lindsay. I want to thank my sisters that have been chosen outside of biology, like Rachel. I want to thank my children, Otis and Daisy.”After winning the same award at the Critics Choice in March, Sudeikis revealed it was Wilde – his previous partner of nine years – who actually came up with the idea for the show, which is now in its second season.“I want to thank my kids, Otis and Daisy. I want to thank their mum, Otis and Daisy’s mum, Olivia, who had the initial idea for this as a TV show,” Sudeikis said during his speech. The gracious note made headlines at the time given the pair’s highly publicised relationship breakdown just months prior.Sudeikis and Wilde revealed they had gone their separate ways late last year, with the actress quickly moving on with British boy band star, Harry Styles, in January. In an interview with GQ in July this year, Sudeikis said he was still trying to come to terms with why his relationship broke down.“I’ll have a better understanding of why in a year,” he said. “And an even better one in two, and an even greater one in five, and it’ll go from being, you know, a book of my life to becoming a chapter to a paragraph to a line to a word to a doodle.”Ted Lasso has already cleaned up at today’s Emmy Awards, with Sudeikis’ win following Brett Goldstein’s win for Best Supporting Actor, Comedy.Their co-star, Hannah Waddingham, won in the Best Supporting Actress comedy. The 73rd annual Emmys is airing live on Foxtel.
