But Dave Hughes, Jackie O and Urzila Carlson were wide of the mark, nominating singer Tones and I, reality star Ali Oetjen and actress Ruby Rose Hooper was the ninth superstar performer unmasked on The Masked Singer Australia as it heads into finals week on Sunday.Hidden under a gigantic baby costume, the five-time ARIA winner and frontwoman of iconic Australian band Killing Heidi, was no match for Dolly’s take on Supaloney be Benee, despite getting emotions flowing with her rendition of The Backstreet Boys hit As Long As You Love Me, Baby was no match for Dolly’s take on Supaloney by Benee featuring Gus Dapperton. When asked why she wanted join The Masked Singer Australia, Ella said: “Every year or two, I make sure I do something totally out of my wheelhouse, and this is pretty out there!”Meanwhile, viewers were shocked to see frontrunner Jett Kenny almost VW on SAS Australia, as exhaustion caught up with the ironman. “I just can’t do it, I’m a liability to my team,” Kenny said, handing his number to DS Ant Middleton. Middleton gave him three seconds to reconsider and the 27-year-old put his number back on and thought of his family to spur him on to run the last few kilometres. Kenny said he felt his late sister Jaimi’s presence spurring him on. Before the stunning turn of events, the remaining 10 recruits faced one of the toughest challenges on SAS Australia, having to pitch themselves backwards off a cliff into a lake. While most succeeded, former model Isabelle Cornish painfully belly flopped as she lost confidence in herself. The DS called her in for an interrogation where she revealed she’d never really felt like she’d fit into “normal” life. Her late diagnosis of ADHD last year made everything make sense, Cornish confessed. And then it was a teary Kenny who broke hearts as the recruits had to stand before each other and share their biggest shame. He explained how shared how he felt let down his older sister Jaimi before she died last year. “I told her something and I hoped it was the harsh reality she needed,” he shares with his fellow recruits. “But she’s gone now and I regret not being there for her more.Jana Pittman told how she had to go cap in hand to her elderly parents when in her final year of medical school she realised she couldn’t pay her mortgage or put food on the table for her three kids. “It was because I decided to chase success again,” she said. The recruits were then split into two teams with Bra Boy Koby Atterton in charge of the blue team, and Isabelle Cornish in charge of the red team. As the red teams lags behind, controversial rugby star Sam Burgess carries the weight of the last tire himself to help them try and catch up to the blue team. Abberton removes an obstacle for his team, and then replaces the fallen tree branch in a bid to slow down the red team who are gaining on his team. Burgess trips over the branch and is infuriated by Abberton’s “cheating”.Kenny takes control of the blue team, but can’t unite them quite like Cornish has succeeded with her red team who end up in first place. As punishment the blue team have to run he 6km back to the transport, while the red team wait to be picked up.
