NSW Health announced the new infections on Twitter at 9am and said 381 virus patients were in hospital, including 82 in intensive care.At least 86 per cent of the eligible population are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19, while more than 93.3 per cent have had at least one dose.The health department also confirmed there were no new cases recorded in hotel quarantine.There have now been 506 Covid-19 related deaths in NSW since the start of the outbreak on June 16 and 562 in total since the start of the pandemic.Covid infections in NSW continue to remain steady despite fears numbers would spike when the state emerged from lockdown, with the average daily cases hovering at 298 for the past week.At least 15 new Covid cases have been linked to a growing cluster at an inner Sydney gym since October 18.NSW Health revealed 15 confirmed cases had either attended City Gym, Darlinghurst while infectious or acquired the virus at the venue.Anyone who attended the gym at the following times is considered a casual contact and must immediately get tested and self-isolate until they receive a negative result: October 23, 8am-11am and 5pm-7.30pm October 22, 6am-11am and 1.30pm-4pm October 21, 6am-4.15pm October 20, 6am-11.30am October 19, 6am-9am and 5.30pm-7pm October 18, all dayUnder NSW restrictions, only fully vaccinated residents are allowed to attend the gym.City Gym executive director Billy Kokkinis told The Daily Telegraph the news had come as a “complete shock”.He said NSW Health inspectors had visited the facility just days earlier saying it was the “cleanest gym” they had seen.“You can’t tell me one day that we’re the cleanest gym and then the next day tell me we’re a hotspot,” he said.
