Numbers had stabilised in recent weeks but Thursday’s figure was a huge jump on Wednesday when the state recorded 190 cases – and from more tests. There were also four deaths – three men and one woman. The woman, who was 38, was unvaccinated and had underlying health issues. She died at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. One person was in their 70s, and two people were in their 80s.Meanwhile, vaccination rates continue to climb. As of Tuesday night 93.7 per cent of eligible residents had received one dose and 88.7 per cent were fully vaccinated.NSW is hoping to reach the 95 per cent double-dose milestone that Premier Dominic Perrottet believes is achievable.Unvaccinated residents will not have freedoms until that target is met or from December 15 – whichever comes first.Earlier this week Mr Perrottet said NSW had “exceeded” vaccination targets.“We are on track to do it. It is one last push and I believe that we can get to that 95 per cent mark, plus a strong booster program,” he said.
