The Herald Sun can reveal pictures from the black tie night, hosted by passionate St Kilda supporter and billionaire David Russell, with a venetian theme that included an acrobatic and dance show.The event was put on by Russell’s Che Sara Sara Foundation in support of The Danny Frawley Centre for Health and Wellbeing and the Centre for Multicultural Youth.The main auction item was six nights, seven days for 12 guests on board the M/Y Lady E in the Maldives in mid march 2022, valued at $1.3m.Russell, who grew up in Moorabbin and moved back to Melbourne two years ago after spending time in Asia, spoke to the crowd alongside Anita Frawley, wife of late footy figure Danny Frawley and St Kilda Football Club chief executive Matt Finnis. Spin king Shane Warne was also among the guests with some standouts wearing gowns by Klovia Couture.Russell is the owner representative of the superyacht purchased in 2018, which is a 75m vessel that accommodates 12 guests, 22 crew with features including four levels of spacious decks, a day spa, gym, heated on-board pool and aquapark.Russell, who attended Brighton Grammar and Monash University, will be back on board this weekend to host his James Bond themed birthday party.He sold Equis Energy, which he founded in 2011, for (US) $5bn in 2017.
