Hutchins, 42, died and director Joel Souza was wounded in the October 21 shooting on the Bonanza Creek Ranch film set near Santa Fe, New MexicoA judge on Friday approved a request by the Occupational Health and Safety Bureau of the state Environment Department to issue a subpoena to Dave Halls, Rust’s assistant director, local news outlets reported.Mr Halls twice declined to speak to safety investigators since November 2, according to an affidavit by a compliance officer in support of the subpoena request. “It’s the bureau’s understanding that Mr. Halls was inside the church when this fatality and injury, this workplace fatality and injury to the second person, occurred,” the application says. “So the bureau needs to question Mr. Halls on what occurred inside the church.”Deadline.com reported that Mr Halls’ lawyer, Lisa Torracco, said her client “is happy to co-operate with the OSHA investigation.” At this point, she said the interview is set to conducted via Zoom, but gave no details on dates.Halls previously told police he couldn’t recall how thoroughly he checked the weapon before giving it to Baldwin and declaring “cold gun” during rehearsals inside the set of a church. It comes as Baldwin returned to public life just over a week after his first TV interview since the tragedy. The 63-year-old delivered jokes as the master of ceremonies for the Robert F. Kennedy.“We will celebrate these extraordinary honorees and recommit ourselves to what Bobby said when he announced his presidential bid, ‘Peace, justice and compassion’,” he said.Vice President Kamala Harris served as the gala’s keynote speaker, with a number of the Kennedy family in attendance. In another surprise move, Baldwin deleted his Twitter account days after his emotional TV interview. His account @AlecBaldwin was removed from Twitter with a message saying “this account doesn’t exist”. It is understood that Baldwin has a private second account which remains active. The actor had been tweeting from his verified account about the on-set tragedy.
