“The Book of Boba Fett” is the latest “Star Wars” show coming to Disney Plus. The series debuts on December 29, with new episodes premiering every Wednesday.
Bounty hunter Boba Fett was a villain in the original “Star Wars” films. He made his first appearance in an animated segment in the 1978 “Star Wars Holiday Special,” and then made his live-action debut in “The Empire Strikes Back.” Boba Fett resurfaced in the Disney Plus series “The Mandalorian,” and in “The Book of Boba Fett” he plans to take over the criminal underworld once controlled by his former employer, Jabba the Hutt.
Boba Fett is played by Temuera Morrison, the actor who played Boba’s father, Jango Fett, in “Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.” Morrison has also voiced both Jango and Boba in multiple video games. In “The Book of Boba Fett” Morrison is joined by Ming-Na Wen, who plays mercenary Fennec Shand.
“The Book of Boba Fett” has the same team of executive producers as “The Mandalorian,” but is considered a separate show. “The Mandalorian” is expected to return for a third season in 2022.
