After being battered and bruised following a fall on Sam Newman’s yacht before Christmas, Mannix said there was more drama when the crew reunited aboard the 66 foot yacht named Angst on Sunday.“How’s my luck?” Mannix said.“Don’t even know how it happened. I went swimming and somehow I cut my arm up and the Wiz (Capper) jumped in and got me.“Every time I go on the boat I end up coming home covered in blood. “Thanks Warwick Capper for saving my life.”Mannix, lead singer of 1980s band Uncanny X-Men, was joined on the high seas again by former manager Ricky Nixon and his partner Melissa Huynh, Capper, aerobics champion Sue Stanley and other friends.Newman tended to Mannix’s injury while on the boat.“It’s uncanny how he gets himself into so much strife,” Newman said.“He came back with a reasonable gash and bleeding profusely.“If he ever comes again I’m just going to let the coast guard know to have an ambulance follow us.“People probably jump to conclusions that they’re affected by whatever. They are a loud and unruly crowd but very well behaved.“I got the first aid kit out and bandaged him and I’d like the clips back.”Last month Mannix went nose first into the step on board after the yacht was rocked by a change of weather and turbulence Newman described as one of the roughest days he’d experienced.
