Police allege O’Keefe assaulted the 38-year-old woman at his unit on Kent Street in Sydney’s CBD on Tuesday while they were meeting to discuss starting a business together.O’Keefe, who was once chairman of the White Ribbon Campaign in Australia, was arrested early on Thursday morning after the allegations were brought to the attention of police.A spokesperson for NSW Police said in a statement: “A verbal argument ensued between the pair, before the man allegedly assaulted the woman – grabbing her by the throat, pushing her to the ground and punching her.”“The man allegedly assaulted the woman a second time – punching and kicking her – before she left the unit.”O’Keefe was a host at Channel 7 for almost two decades before his contract expired in 2020.He is currently at Day Street Police Station where charges are expected to be laid.
