  • The 2022 Winter Olympics figure skating competition began on February 3 and concludes February 19.
  • Figure skating events are streaming live on Peacock Premium ($5/month).
  • Nathan Chen could bring home a gold medal for Team USA in the men’s singles program.

Figure skating events at the 2022 Winter Olympics began on February 3 and run through February 19. All events are streaming live on Peacock, and select events are being broadcast live or re-aired during NBC’s primetime coverage.

Team USA already earned a silver medal in this year’s team event, but reports of a failed drug test from a Russian skater has delayed the medal ceremony. The IOC stated they’re hoping to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

The US has a shot at taking home additional medals as the figure skating competition continues. Nathan Chen scored a 113.97 in the men’s short program on February 7, breaking the previous world record set by Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan. Chen finished the short program in first place and is expected to perform last in the free skate on February 9.

Meanwhile, teenage newcomer Alysa Liu is in the mix to challenge front-runners in the women’s program. In the ice dancing event, veteran pair Madison Chock and Evan Bates are looking to medal for the first time as the competition landscape has changed since 2018.

Team USA is also making history at this year’s Olympic games. Timothy LeDuc is set to become the first openly non-binary winter Olympian. They will be competing in the pairs figure skating event with Ashley Cain-Gribble.

How to watch Olympic figure skating

You can watch every figure skating event at the 2022 Winter Olympics live on Peacock Premium. A Peacock Premium streaming subscription costs $5 a month.

Select figure skating events are also airing live on NBC and USA. If you have access to NBC through a pay-TV provider, you can stream those events on the NBC or NBC Sports app, and on NBCOlympics.com.

If you don’t have cable, you can watch NBC’s broadcast coverage on a live TV streaming service, like Sling TV, FuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, or Youtube TV. The most budget-friendly option of the bunch is Sling’s Blue plan, which costs $35 a month. New customers can get their first month for $10.

Note: NBC is only available in select markets, so be sure to check availability on Sling’s website first.
