New to Google Chrome on iPhone and iPad? Here’s how you can download and save images using the web browser on your device.
Learn to Save an Image Using the Google Chrome Web Browser on iPhone and iPad
Saving photos and images using Google Chrome is pretty straightforward on the iPhone and iPad. If you’re new to Apple’s platform but decided to go with Google Chrome as your browser of choice, then we will show you how you can download and save images straight onto your device in a few easy steps.
Tutorial
Step 1. First of all, launch Google Chrome on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 2. Open the URL from where you want to save the image onto your device.
Step 3. Tap and hold on the image.
Step 4. Now tap on Save Image.
Step 5. If you’re saving an image using Chrome for the first time then you have to grant it permission to access your Photos app where the image will be saved. You’ll see a dialogue box like the one shown below. Simply tap on OK.
That’s all. Your image has now been saved on your iPhone and iPad in the Photos app. If you just want to copy an image and paste it somewhere else then simply choose Copy Image in Step 4. Once copied, the image will live in the clipboard until you decide to paste it somewhere and send it away.
It is extremely important that you allow Chrome to access the Photos app otherwise the bowser won’t be able to save anything locally. But, if you are one of the more paranoid ones who believes Chrome might magically lift your entire photo library in the background then you can always disable access to Photos app whenever you like. You can do so by going to Settings > Privacy > Photos > Chrome and then select None as shown in the screenshot below.
But, rest assured, given Apple’s strict App Store security measures, someone just ‘hacking’ your photos is not going to happen.
