I’ve Been a Stylist for 27 Years—I Recommend These Items to Everyone

OSTN Staff

Roz Kaur is the latest fashion follow that continuously piques my sartorial interest. She has a unique sense of personal style and posts a range of outfits on her Instagram account that are forward and inspiring. She also happens to be 54 years old and has worked in the industry for 27 years as a stylist (currently at Anthropologie).

To her, styling is an art form, and she loves experimenting with clothes and using them as an extension of who she is on the inside. “To me, great style is all about the juxtaposition,” she said. “It’s about interesting layering and proportions.” On that note, I thought there could be interest in uncovering the pieces she personally loves to wear as well as those she loves styling on her clients. For reference, Kaur isn’t so much into trends, per se, but more so those modern, timeless pieces that are of quality.

With all that in mind, keep scrolling for a curation of the pieces Kaur is loving and is currently recommending to her clients, complete with a range of outfit references and shopping inspiration.

On Kaur: Zara blazer; Anthropologie hat. “A blazer is a staple, and the choices are endless.”

You’ll never regret investing in a fantastic black blazer.

Double-breasted jackets always look chic.

Breathable linen is perfect for summer.

Don’t overlook Nordstrom’s in-house brand, Open Edit.

On Kaur: DL1961 jeans; KMJ shirt. “There’s nothing like a great pair of jeans and a button-down shirt with sleeves rolled up.”

Wide-leg jeans are taking over right now.

You can always rely on Levi’s.

I’ve never been let down by Madewell’s jeans.

The perfect mid-blue hue.

I love a good ’90s moment.

On Kaur: Converse sneakers. “Like a perfectly distressed striped button-down or just the right pair of jeans, there’s something inherently cool and nostalgic about low-top Converse.”

It doesn’t get any more classic than this.

High-tops are always a good idea.

I’ll be wearing these all summer long.

The perfect white sneakers do exist.

I love this fun cobalt blue color.

On Kaur: Burberry jacket. “A trench coat is classic and timeless.”

This is a great investment piece.

Pretty in pink.

Trench coats are so practical for inclement weather.

On Kaur: Julez Bryant hoops and necklaces. “I love a pair of gold hoops and some delicate layered necklaces.”

The ideal everyday earrings.

I love a good two-for-one deal.

Gold hoops will forever be cool.

On Kaur: House of Hindee set. “A lounge set is ideal for both lazy days at home and a quick run to the Sunday farmers market.”

This sweater is selling like crazy. It’s super soft and perfect for lounging or traveling.

Don’t forget the matching pants.

I’m obsessed with this camel color.

The comfiest lounge pants you’ll ever own.

On Kaur: Zara blazer; Anthropologie hat. “A dramatic chapeau is often what I throw on as I’m running out the door to complete my look. I buy all mine at Anthropologie.”

Protect your skin with a wide-brim hat.

This fun print is giving me ’70s vibes.

Cult Gaia knows how to design a covetable accessory.

On Kaur: Levi’s jacket; Anthropologie hat and overalls. “I have a dresser drawer full of glasses. It’s funny how they have become my signature style. I have them in a plethora of colors and styles. My favorites are from Retrosuperfuture and Vint & York.”

Le Specs glasses are beloved by celebs.

Why wear boring glasses?
