The postcodes where Covid cases are soaring

The number of new daily cases remain at some of their highest levels in more than three months as new data shows young people, aged 10-19, are now accounting for the highest number of positive tests.NSW Health today reported 22,107 new cases – down from 24,803 yesterday which marked the highest tally of daily cases since January 20, excluding a reporting glitch which saw numbers leap to 30,402 on March 16.Covid slider March 31There were also 25,235 reported cases on Wednesday and 21,494 on Tuesday.The figures also show people aged 10-19 have accounted for the highest number of new cases in the last 30 days, recording 113,858 positive tests.Numbers are also high in the 30-39 age bracket (77,640 cases) followed by those aged 40-49 (75,430 cases), and 20-29 year-olds with 70,249 cases.RELATED: WHERE TO FIND A RAT TEST IN NSWIn the last week, postcode data shows there has been significant jumps in some parts of the state including southwest Sydney with the 2560 postcode – taking Campbelltown – recording 2797 cases, up 704 from last week.The 2570 postcode, spanning Nattai to Camden, had 2803 active cases as of Tuesday – up 726 from last week.Case numbers have also increased on the Central Coast with the 2250 postcode, which takes in Gosford, recording 2475 cases – up 794 from last week, while the 2259 postcode has 2545 cases – up by 473.The Hills District is also another hotspot with the 2155 postcode – taking in suburbs including Kellyville – recording 3471 active cases – up 207 from last week.The neighbouring 2153 postcode, taking in Baulkham Hills, has 2603 cases and the 2154 postcode, taking in Castle Hill, has 1549.The Blacktown postcode of 2148 has 2294 active cases, while the Liverpool postcode, which also incorporates Casula and surrounds, has 2730 active cases – up 492 up from last week.SEE HOW MANY ACTIVE CASES ARE IN YOUR SUBURB*Click on the three horizontal lines in the top left of the map. You can then choose between active case by LGA or by suburb.The 2145 postcode in the Cumberland region has 2745 active cases.Cases also remain high in the 2747 postcode, taking in suburbs including Kingswood, with 2199 active cases, and the 2765 postcode taking in Marsden Park and Riverstone has 1770 active cases.In the city’s east, areas with relatively high numbers include Randwick’s 2035 postcode with 1263 cases, the 2036 postcode in the Botany region with 1236 active cases, and the Marrickville 2204 postcode with 1248 cases.Cronulla’s 2230 postcode has 1129 active cases – up 147 from last week, the Hornsby postcode of 2077 has 1581 actives cases, Lane Cove’s 2066 postcode has 1247 cases, the Ryde 2112 postcode has 1280 cases, and the 2099 postcode – taking in Dee Why – has 1720 cases.NED-5052-Covid-19-super-variantOutside Sydney, case numbers remain high in Wagga Wagga with the regional hub recording 1940 active cases as of Tuesday – down 131 from last week.The 2795 postcode, spanning the Bathurst region, has 1649 active cases, and the 2830 postcode, taking in Dubbo, has 1338 cases – up 438 from last week.The Wollongong 2500 postcode has 1389 active cases and the neighbouring 2530 postcode in Dapto has 1273 active cases.The Maitland postcode of 2320 has 1244 active cases, and the Port Macquarie postcode 2444 has 1239 active cases.On top of battling floods and clean-up missions, residents in Lismore’s 2480 postcode have also recorded 657 active cases.There are 1326 people in hospital with coronavirus as of Thursday – up by 218 from last week – with 39 currently in intensive care – down by four from last week.
