Senate Democrats filed a bar complaint against President Trump’s former acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove.
Emil Bove has been under attack from the left since he fired federal prosecutors in the SDNY and dropped corruption charges against NYC Mayor Eric Adams.
Democrats claimed Emil Bove engaged in quid pro quo when he dropped the indictment against Adams.
“Mr. Bove’s conduct not only speaks to his fitness as a lawyer; his activities are part of a broader course of conduct by President Trump and his allies to undermine the traditional independence of Department of Justice’s investigations and prosecutions and the rule of law,” the complain read according to CNN.
“When a government lawyer, particularly one entrusted with a leadership role in the nation’s foremost law enforcement agency, commits serious violations of professional conduct, such actions undermine the integrity of our justice system and erode public confidence in it. Public confidence is further eroded when such serious misconduct is met with no consequences,” the complaint read.
CNN reported:
Senate Democrats are urging New York legal authorities to investigate whether acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove engaged in professional misconduct by engaging in a supposed quid-pro-quo to drop corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
The complaint, sent to the Attorney Grievance Committee in New York, the investigative group that scrutinizes potential misconduct by lawyers who are licensed to practice in the state, is signed by the Democratic members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, including their top member, Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin.
Last month Norm Eisen said he was targeting Trump’s Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove for ruin after FBI and DOJ officials were fired.
Norm Eisen and others in his lawfare orbit have previously targeted Trump attorneys for disbarment.
Last month his group, State Defenders Democracy Fund, a retired judge and DC hack lawyer Mark Zaid, threatened Emil Bove with “severe consequences.”
“We’ve written a letter to Mr. Bove and the leadership of FBI reminding them not only of their moral duties but of their ethical and legal duties and warning them of very severe consequences,” Norm Eisen said and corrupt prosecutor Andrew Weissmann nodded in agreement.
