White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed on Monday that President Donald Trump “stands strongly behind” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth after a New York Times report citing unnamed sources alleging that he again discussed sensitive information in a Signal group chat.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the Pentagon has forcefully denied the newspaper’s allegations. Chief Spokesman Sean Parnell called the story “fake news” driven by disgruntled former employees.

“Another day, another old story—back from the dead. The Trump-hating media continues to be obsessed with destroying anyone committed to President Trump’s agenda,” Parnell said in a statement.

“This time, the New York Times — and all other Fake News that repeat their garbage — are enthusiastically taking the grievances of disgruntled former employees as the sole sources for their article. They relied only on the words of people who were fired this week and appear to have a motive to sabotage the Secretary and the President’s agenda.”

The paper claimed that Hegseth had included his wife, personal lawyer, and brother in a sensitive chat about the planned strikes in Yemen.

The X account for the Democratic Party responded to the report with a post stating “[Hegseth] needs to go.”

It does not seem that the Libs will be getting their way, however, as the White House confirmed Trump is not taking the bait.

“The President absolutely has confidence in Secretary Hegseth. I spoke to him about it this morning, and he stands strongly behind him,” Leavitt told Fox News.
