A flight departing from Jakarta, Indonesia, has gone missing within four minutes of taking off, according to the flight tracker website FlightRadar24.

An Indonesian newspaper, Republika, reported the plane was carrying 59 passengers, including five children and a baby.

Sriwijaya Air flight #SJ182 had been flying to Pontianak in Borneo, Indonesia, around 740km from Soekarno-Hatta Airport. 

The Boeing 737-500 lost more than 10,000ft of altitude in under a minute and an ADS-B signal was lost at 2.37 p.m local time.

It has registration number PK-CLC (MSN 27323) and took its first flight in May 1996. 

The plane is not a 737 Max that was recertified to fly again recently after two major crashes.
