Under current restrictions in NSW people must wear a public transport, in places of worship, for hospitality staff and in beauty salons and hairdressers.Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Ms Berejiklian said this was currently under review and it was likely the state would revert back to its old policy on masks “until at least next week”.“We are considering our mask wearing policy (given) the position NSW is in,” she said.“If there’s no evidence of community transmission (on public transport) we would revert back to previous mask-wearing policy.“But that’s still to be determined.”Previously it was only recommended people had to wear a mask on public transport.Ms Berejiklian hinted at the change while announcing that from Friday next week, cafes, restaurants, bars and places of worship would be able to welcome more people into their venues.“We will be reverting back to the 2 sqm rule,” Ms Berejiklian said.“Barring anything unexpected happens between now and then.”This is a relaxation on the previous 4 sqm ruling.

The state marked another day of no community transmission while two infections were diagnosed in hotel quarantine. NSW chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant said there were 11,816 tests to 8pm Tuesday night. When asked about the vaccine rollout, the Premier said the government was waiting on information from its federal counterparts. “We look forward to getting that information,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“The federal government always anticipated the rollout (would be) February or March, and obviously our health experts are already in negotiations and discussions, and as soon as we have something concrete to convey to the community we will.“When it is my turn I will make sure I will get the vaccine.”A sewage alert has also been issued for Ireland Park which serves 88,000 people in the Liverpool area. The catchment covers several suburbs including: Cecil Park, Cecil Hills, Bonnyrigg Heights, Green Valley, Len Waters Estate, Hinchinbrook, Hoxton Park, West Hoxton, Carnes Hill, Horningsea Park, Edmondson Park, Bardia, Denham Court, Leppington, Gledswood Hills, Glenfield, Casula, Prestons, Varroville and Austral.
