Huge fine after limo border breach

They and three passengers attempted to enter the state from NSW when they were stopped by police.Deputy Police Commissioner Steve Gollschewski said the driver had been handed a $4135 fine after it was found they had falsified their declaration form.“The three passengers are not co-operating at the moment, so further investigations are ongoing,” he said on Friday.The four occupants of the limousine have been placed into hotel quarantine on the Gold Coast, along with a 79‐year‐old who also tried to enter the state from a hotspot.A total of 1611 vehicles were processed on the Queensland border on Thursday.It comes as Queensland recorded just one new locally acquired case of Covid-19, but slammed the border closed to all of Victoria due to the spread of the Delta variant.
