Hussien Taha also made an alarming allegation that one couple, who “don’t believe in corona (sic)”, work for a disability service that is connected to the National Disability Insurance Scheme. “I called them and I told them, how dare you still operate your service and you’re taking and transporting and bringing sick children with a disability while you know you all are Covid positive,” a teary Mr Taha said in a video posted to social media.“I told them off for it … they didn’t like the fact that I told them off and I get a phone call from her husband telling me, ‘I hope your son dies from corona’, because I’m telling them to do the right thing.”In the video, Mr Taha said he had just come out of hospital after he was diagnosed with Covid-19 and pneumonia.“I reached death many times,” he said. “I’m better … but I have my wife now who’s in hospital, and she’s struggling to breathe. I have my three-and-a-half-year-old … spiking up a temperature.“I’m by myself, it’s very hard, it’s not easy.”Mr Taha said his sister, who lives in a granny flat behind his home, was in intensive care and “not doing well whatsoever”.Her young son, daughter and husband were also infected with the virus.“Me and her husband are trying to be father and mother to our sick kids, because we have very sick wives,” he said.“All because of one mother and father … they were infectious for four to five days … and never told me.“They didn’t disclose this information because they don’t believe in corona.“If you don’t believe in corona, do you know how hard it is to see your sister not being able to breathe? I’m ok to die, I’m happy to die, but I don’t want to see my wife struggle, I don’t want to see my sister struggle, I don’t want to see my son struggle.”He pleaded: “If you’re sick, stay home. You don’t believe in corona, keep it amongst you … and your family. Other people don’t want it.”In a second video posted one day later, Mr Taha said the support he received had “been amazing”.“It’s so overwhelming. All I want to do right now is focus and look after my son, my nephew, my niece and my brother-in-law.”Authorities had been alerted to the family who he alleged were infectious while working.“I’ve notified every single government body that I could possibly notify,” he said, adding that they “were on to it”.
