That’s up from between $250,000 and $300,000 ($A341,000 – $410,000) per episode during the first two seasons of the Apple TV+ show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The outlet noted the pay rise accounts for Sudeikis’ additional roles as head writer and producer, as well as creator fees.Along with Sudeikis, other actors and writers on the show have also seen significant pay bumps as part of a season three push, the report said.Negotiations have been ongoing for the past month or so, THR said, citing sources familiar with the talks. The talks have resulted in key members of the cast, including Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple and Brendan Hunt, all bagging raises that take them from $50,000 to $75,000 ($A68,000 to $A102,000) per episode to the six-digit range. The first two seasons of the show were a blockbuster hit for Apple TV+, the tech giant’s initially lacklustre effort to compete in the so-called streaming wars. The show has garnered 20 Emmy nominations including outstanding comedy series and a pair of writing mentions. The season two premiere also brought in more viewers than any other original Apple TV+ show, the company said, though Apple doesn’t publicly disclose traditional viewership data or, unlike other major streamers, total subscriptions.Apple TV+ and co-producer Warner Bros TV are also currently negotiating a new licensing deal, THR reported, that would see Apple bear the brunt of the rising costs of the show.Linear rights to Ted Lasso, which Warner Bros retained as part of its seasons one and two deal, are also central to the negotiations, according to THR.Apple reportedly wants to keep the show exclusively on Apple TV+ and may even buy Warner Bros out of its rights to air re-runs of the show on channels like TNT and TBS in coming years.Representatives for Apple and Warner did not immediately return a request for comment. This article originally appeared on the NY Post and was reproduced with permission
