Making presentations, documents, spreadsheets, etc., isn’t always easy, but a few pairs of hands on the job can make it quicker and more efficient. Google docs, sheets, and slides allow you to work with colleagues. However, these applications aren’t as user-friendly as the ones by Microsoft. Handling the Google counterpart can be slightly more difficult for someone who is used to using shortcuts to do many of the tasks. Luckily, Microsoft now allows you to work with people. I will show you how to work together in Microsoft PowerPoint on Windows computers in this tutorial.
Work Together in Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft allows the collab mode across all its Office apps, and you can use these steps for other apps too. For this tutorial, however, I will show you how to collaborate on PowerPoint.
Step-1: Open the PowerPoint app or the presentation you wish to collaborate with other people on Windows.
Step-2: Click on the Share button on the left corner of the PowerPoint window.
Step-3: Click on the upload presentation option. (This option comes if your presentation isn’t already uploaded to OneDrive)
Step-4: Name your presentation and press OK.
Step-5: Add the names or email ids of the people you wish access to the file.
Step-6: By default, Anyone you send the link to will be able to edit the file. However, you can change it before sending the link out. Click on the pencil icon next to the bar where you added the names/emails. Choose the option that seems most suitable to you.
Step-7: Click on the Anyone with the link option.
Step-8: You will see options like the Set expiration date and Set password. These security measures will ensure that people won’t have access to the link indefinitely and set a password so that only those with a password chosen by you will be able to access the file.
Step-9: Click Apply, copy the link, and share it with whomever you please.
Stop File Share
- Open the presentation.
- Click on the Share button.
- Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner and select Manage Access.
- Select Current permission and then click on Stop Sharing.
I hope this helps you work better with your colleagues and makes the entire process of making presentations faster. Let us know in the comments below.
